Coaching to Improve Time Management
Case Study
The Problem
Philip* (the new Managing Director of a mid-sized UK business) struggled to prioritise conflicting demands. The group leadership team was demanding, and the business had multiple challenges.
He was feeling overwhelmed. He was unsure how to allocate time and direct his various functional teams.
How My Coaching Helped
We explored the key business drivers and how these aligned with the strategy. We then mapped the various demands and requests against these.
We also used tools like important/urgency grids to create and update a priority list over time.
The Result
Philip’s thinking became clearer, and he felt less overwhelmed. Be began to confidently focus his and his team’s time on the most critical areas for business success.
He started to reject non-essential activities and projects and found he could easily justify his choices to his leadership team.
Philp became happier – and considerably more productive.
