Case Study

The Problem

Edison*, a divisional Finance Director, moved from a large corporate to a fast-growing mid-sized company. He missed support from peers and more senior finance staff – or access a wider network available in corporates.

His wider responsibilities were a culture shock, and his confidence in his ability became a challenge.

How My Coaching Helped

We explored his previous achievements to strengthen his self-belief by reminding him why he deserved to be in the role. We discussed the current challenges faced had been overcome in previous roles, and I praised his successes in the current role.

The Result

Edison’s confidence in his ability to successfully manage the growing business with less support grew quickly. The business owner became increasingly impressed with him and his team’s ability to manage business growth.

Edison tendered for and won the largest contract in the company’s history, accelerating growth. The owner was delighted, and Edison received a substantial bonus.
